Movement and Stillness

In this class we will explore how the process of engaging our awareness in subtle movements leads to a greater possibility of inner stillness.

When thoughts slow down and our internal chatter quietens, a more spacious state can arise, along with the relaxation of habitual tensions. The ability to cultivate and connect with this inner stillness and silence is essential for our wellbeing, bringing healing, rest, renewal, and increased vitality.

This intriguing Feldenkrais lesson will help you learn more about the connection of your hands to your torso and to your whole self. You will learn a simple process which you can use anytime to improve how you move, deeepen awareness of your breath, quieten your mind and ease anxiety,

Come and re-discover your potential for easier co-ordination, flexibility and well-organised movement!

This Awareness through Movement lesson will help you to improve the co-ordinated action of your whole spine, ribs and pelvis through developing an easy pleasurable roll from front to back, and back to front.
The ability to roll over is one we develop early in life and it lays the foundation for efficient, effortless, balanced upright posture. However, over the years we often lose this skill, and unconsciously hold excessive tension through the back, chest and ribs, depriving ourselves of ease and support, and limiting the capacity for free breathing.

This fun lesson will help you find a sense of length, spaciousness and playfulness!

Moving Naturally with the Feldenkrais Method

In this month's lesson we'll play with developing an easy fluid transition from lying prone on the floor to sitting, and then coming back down again in a circular pattern! You'll discover how to skillfully co-ordinate your head and eyes, arms and shoulders, pelvis and legs to create a powerful spiralling action through your whole spine. It's a fun challenge which you can work with to your own level of ability. You will need to be able to comfortably lie on your front to do this lesson.
