In this enjoyable Feldenkrais lesson you will discover how to improve the quality and awareness of your breathing, using slow, gentle, floor-based movement. Through freeing up the breath you can reduce anxiety and find more calm and balance in your daily life.
Breathing, in any well-integrated person, is simple, natural and easy. Ideally it automatically adapts to every situation or activity, yet we often experience tensions and habits which interfere with this potential for ease in our breathing.
We all need to breathe well to enjoy a good quality of life, but liberating the full range and freedom of the breathing mechanism is particularly vital for singers, athletes and anybody using their voice a lot to teach or speak in public.
By releasing restrictions through the shoulders, spine and ribs we can discover more potential for easy, full and natural breath. There is a profound connection between our breath and our mental/emotional/energetic state, so by learning to free the breathing we can free ourselves up on many levels.
